A real theater company — and the students run it.

Most schools have a drama club. ISW built something rarer — Huzzah! Theater Company, a real theater company that its students run.

Huzzah! is led by a student board of directors who make the real decisions a company faces — shaping the season and seeing each production through to opening night, mentored by working theater professionals. Its cast and crew are drawn from schools across the Northern Shenandoah Valley, so an ISW student creates and leads alongside talented peers from the whole region.

It is the truest test of ISW’s promise that students are ready to lead: here a student doesn’t just perform — they help run a real company that sells out houses and plays to the whole community. Huzzah! has been underwritten for years by the Marion Park Lewis Foundation.
